It's time we faced the facts. Kids are having sex. And they're contracting HIV/AIDS at an alarming rate.
Whether you teach HIV/AIDS prevention in your classrooms to save lives or to fulfill New York's mandate—it's important that you do it. And Love Heals can help you.
The New York City Department of Education mandates that all public school students in junior and senior high schools receive six HIV/AIDS lessons each year and that all kindergarten through sixth grade students receive five lessons. You can learn more about the AIDS Education Mandate and get tips for fulfilling it. (learn more)
Love Heals can help you fulfill the mandate and deliver quality, age-appropriate and culturally sensitive HIV/AIDS education, prevention and awareness programming to students. We work with public and private schools, as well as community-based organizations throughout New York City and the surrounding area. And over the past 15 years, these partnerships have enabled Love Heals to reach more than 315,000 young people.
With your help, we'll reach even more. We invite you to join us in our efforts to empower young people to make informed choices.
"Learning about the disease in health class is very important, but meeting someone who is living with HIV really hits home."
